Why we built this

Podcast sponsorships happen in public. Every ad read is sitting right there in an episode, and anyone can hear it.

But nobody was writing any of it down.

So if you host a podcast and you want to know which brands are buying ads in your category, there is no place to look. You listen to a few shows like yours, you jot down a few names, and you hope you did not miss anything. If you buy podcast ads for a brand, it is the same problem in reverse. You have no idea where your competitors are spending, or which shows they came back to a second time.

Everyone was working off memory and guesswork. We thought that was a strange way to run a channel this big.

What Podmerse does

Podmerse is a record of who sponsors what.

We track sponsorships across 20,000+ brands and 50,000+ podcasts, down to the episode. Not just "this show has sponsors" but which brand, on which episode, and when. The database updates every day.

You can search it, filter it, and export it. But the part we care about most is following.

Following

Following is simple. Podcasters follow sponsors. Advertisers follow podcasts.

If you are a podcaster and you follow a brand, we tell you every time that brand starts sponsoring a new show. That is a brand with budget, actively spending, in your space. It is a much better reason to send an email than a cold list.

If you buy ads and you follow a podcast, we tell you every time that show picks up a new sponsor. You find out who else is in the room, what kind of brands that audience attracts, and when a slot might be opening up.

You set it once. After that the new information comes to you instead of you going out to look for it.

Who we are

Podmerse is our third product.

We started FeedSpot in 2012. We launched MillionPodcasts in 2024, which helps PR people, marketers and business owners find the right podcasts to pitch. Podmerse came out of the questions we kept getting from those users, from both sides of the table, and they were always about sponsors.

If you already use MillionPodcasts, here is the difference. MillionPodcasts is for finding shows to reach out to. Podmerse is for the money. Who is paying, who is getting paid, and what changed this week.

Where we are going

The database gets a little better every day, because we add every day. If a brand sponsors a podcast, we want it in here.
